Nassau. October 20, 2023. A gala to celebrate Cuban Culture Day took place at the Cuban Embassy in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
Cuban residents, solidarity friends, Bahamians and African graduates in Cuba, as well as members of the health and education collaboration attended the event.
The central words were given by ambassador Julio César González Marchante who recalled the main events that come together in this celebration, highlighting in particular the 155th anniversary of the War of Independence, the composition and interpretation of La Bayamesa, as well as the 220th anniversary of the birth of the poet José María Heredia and 75 of the foundation of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC).
A small sample of art by several national authors, including a Cuban resident in the Bahamas, as well as the interpretation of various works of Cuban music and poetry, gave color and emotion to the celebration.
