The Ambassador of Cuba to Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz, held a new meeting with Senator Andrés Lewis. On this occasion, both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bonds of solidarity between Cuba and Grenada.
During the exchange, Lewis—who also serves as President of the Grenada Trade Union Council (GTUC)—reiterated the commitment of Grenadian unions to accompany Cuba in its resistance against the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States. He emphasized that the struggle of the Cuban people is also the struggle of Caribbean workers for justice and sovereignty.
Andrés Lewis is a recognized voice in Grenadian politics for his consistent defense of Cuba. From his seat in the Senate, he has denounced the effects of the U.S. blockade and insisted on the need for the Caribbean to stand with the Island in its resistance. His trajectory has made him a reference point for regional solidarity.
For her part, the Ambassador expressed gratitude for these demonstrations of support and underscored that cooperation between Cuba and Grenada has been consolidated in multiple areas, ranging from health and education to the training of human resources. She highlighted that Grenadian solidarity constitutes a moral and political backing of great value for the Greater of the Antilles.
