The Ambassador of Cuba to Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz, held a new meeting with Senator Andrés Lewis. On this occasion, both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bonds of solidarity between Cuba and Grenada.
In a recent televised session of the Senate of Grenada, the President of this body, Honorable Dessima Williams, paid tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the centenary of his birth. With a solemn gesture, the legislator evoked the historical significance of the Cuban leader and his impact on the Caribbean region.
Affirming that the Caribbean has produced great leaders, Williams recalled that Fidel was a figure who articulated and fought for the emancipation and rights of the peoples of the so‑called Third World.
We have learned to our disgust that a small group of MEP’s servile to Washington have placed an item on the agenda of the next plenary session of the European Parliament (8 June) regarding the “Political Situation and Human Rights in Cuba”.
Brussels, 7 June 2021. The European Parliament has scheduled for Tuesday 8 June an artificial debate on what it is pleased to call “the political and human rights situation in Cuba” If this body indeed decides to discuss Cuba, the debate should clearly center on the massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the entire Cuban population resulting from the genocidal, immoral and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by Washington against our country for over 60 years.
