London, 18 October 2026. A delegation from Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power will undertake a working visit to the United Kingdom from 19 to 23 October, organised by the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (BGIPU), with the aim of strengthening ties between the legislative bodies of both countries.
The delegation is led by Dr Enrique Alemán Gutiérrez, President of the Cuba–UK Parliamentary Friendship Group, and includes Members of Parliament Marta Hernández Romero and Carlos Rafael Fuentes León.
During their visit, the Cuban parliamentarians will meet with representatives of the UK Parliament, government officials, academic institutions and solidarity organisations, providing opportunities for constructive dialogue and the exchange of views.
The visit will offer an opportunity to share parliamentary experiences, discuss matters of mutual interest and provide first-hand perspectives on the situation in Cuba, including the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, the challenges facing the country and its efforts to advance economic and social development.
The Embassy of Cuba in the United Kingdom will accompany the delegation throughout its visit, which is expected to contribute to stronger ties of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
