Ambassador's Working Visit to Oxford Strengthens Educational and Solidarity Ties

On March 13, 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. Ismara Mercedes Vargas Walter, Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and First Secretary Mr. Pablo Arturo Ginarte Sampedro undertook a working visit to Oxford, organized by the Oxford Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) and the National Education Union, Oxfordshire. The visit facilitated meaningful exchanges with students, academics, trade unionists, and supporters of Cuba.

United Kingdom, 15 February - In the framework of his visit to the United Kingdom, the Cuban MP Dr. Enrique Alemán, director of the Quisicuaba Socio-Cultural Project, president of the Platform for Interreligious Dialogue in Cuba and of the Federation of Spiritualists of Cuba, visited St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ismara Vargas Walter.

Ambassador visits Aberystwyth to strengthen cultural and academic links

The Cuban flag proudly waved alongside Aberystwyth Castle, symbolizing the strong bonds of solidarity and friendship between Cuba and Wales.

On Thursday, November 28, Ambassador Ismara Vargas made an official visit to Aberystwyth, Wales. This important occasion highlighted Cuba's commitment to promoting cultural and academic cooperation with the United Kingdom. She was accompanied throughout the visit by Steve Witherden MP, co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cuba in the House of Commons, underscoring the strong political support for Cuban solidarity in the UK.

Minister of Justice concludes work visit to Vietnam

The Minister of Justice of Cuba, Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, completed a working visit to Vietnam during which he met with State,  Government, and  judicial  authorities of the Indochinese country.

In a meeting with the Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Premier expressed to the Cuban visitor the will to continue promoting the exchange of delegations and integral cooperation between the two countries, especially within the legal field.

Cuban Ambassador visits the historic Uzbek region of Samarkand

Invited by Uzbek authorities, the Cuban ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, visited the city of Samarkand, the second city of Uzbekistan, declared a World Heritage Site in 2001 and registered as "Crossroads of cultures."

During the tour, the Cuban diplomat valued the conservation and restoration works carried out in this city, considered one of the oldest in the world, still inhabited.

Vietnames leaders welcomed Cuban First Vice President

The first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, was welcomed in Hanoi by the Secretary General of Vietnam Communist Party (VCP), the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the leader of the National Assembly.

Valdés Mesa talked with the leader of VCP, Nguyen Phu Trong, about the importance of his last visit to Cuba, last March, when both countries reached new agreements in order to expand bilateral political and economic ties.
