Guyana, Georgetown, February 24, 2025. The Guyanese graduate, Surendra Lall Boodhoo, expressed the most sincere gratitude to Cuba for having the possibility of obtaining the degree of Doctor in Accounting and Financial Sciences. The academic exercise was carried out on February 20, 2025, at the “Máximo Gómez Báez” University in Ciego de Ávila. The topic of the thesis was “Comprehensive evaluation cycle of investment projects for semi-autonomous public sector companies in Guyana”. The awarding of the Doctorate to a graduate from Guyana continues the historical ties of cooperation in educational matters between the two countries. More than a thousand Guyanese have graduated in Cuba over several years in different health, education and technical specialties and continue to receive scholarships to study in Cuba annually.
