Guyana, Georgetown, July 26, 2025. The Guyana Peace Council (GPC) greets the seventy-second (72nd) anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks in the province of Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo, by a dedicated and heroic group of Cuban revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro. Moncada marked a high point in the long and heroic struggle of the Cuban people for national and social liberation. The Guyana Peace Council greets the Cuban people who, over the years, have endured the hardships imposed by the harsh and inhumane blockade of the United States.

Georgetown, May 19, 2025. With the presence of Mr. Rafael Méndez, the prominent cultural promoter and artisan artist of the Cuban Association of Artisans and Artists (ACAA), an exchange with representatives of Guyanese culture took place at the Cuban Embassy in Guyana. The meeting allowed for a closer look at the diversity of the two countries. The presence of creators from different Guyanese ethnic communities was positive, coordinated by Guyanese entrepreneur Marlon Joseph, who led his country's representation.
Guyana, Georgetown, april 2, 2025. Guyana’s healthcare sector has been further strengthened with the addition of two newly trained medical specialists who have successfully completed their post-graduate specialisations in Cuba.
Their achievements follow that of Dr. Cymoné Nedd, the first Guyanese specialist for 2024, who has already returned home and is attached to the Ministry of Health.
Among the latest specialists is Dr. Vanessa Singh, who qualified as a Radiologist at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba in December 2024.
Guyana, Georgetown february 25, 2025. From February 10 to 21, 2025, the artisan representative of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods, Niurka Cabañas Calvo, offered training workshops to Guyanese artisans, through the invitation of the Commission on Women's Affairs and Gender Equality of Guyana. As part of the program, the Cuban artisan offered collage and paper mache workshops, visited the University of Guyana, the Special Needs School “David Rose”, where she exchanged about the development of crafts for children, and recognitions were given to the participants.
Guyana, Georgetown, February 24, 2025. The Guyanese graduate, Surendra Lall Boodhoo, expressed the most sincere gratitude to Cuba for having the possibility of obtaining the degree of Doctor in Accounting and Financial Sciences. The academic exercise was carried out on February 20, 2025, at the “Máximo Gómez Báez” University in Ciego de Ávila. The topic of the thesis was “Comprehensive evaluation cycle of investment projects for semi-autonomous public sector companies in Guyana”.

Guyana, Georgetwon, february 10, 2025. Invited by the Women and Gender Equality Commission of Guyana, the Cuban craft expert and graduate in special education, Ms. Niurka Cabañas Calvo, will develop an exchange program from February 10 to 21, 2025.
During her stay in Guyana, the Cuban craft expert will offer workshops to Guyanese women, and she will visit schools of art, a school for children with special educational needs, the National Gallery of Art and the University of Guyana.
