The legacy and example of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, was highlighted today in Vienna, in the commemorative event on the occasion of the third anniversary of his physical death.
The event which was organized by the Cuban Embassy in Austria, in coordination with "ÖKG", the Austrian-Cuba Friendship Association and with the support of "CubaVa", the Association of Cuban Residents gathered friends from Cuba, members of the Diplomatic Missions of the ALBA countries in Vienna, Austrian authorities and Cuban residents, who remembered the fruitful life and work of the eternal Commander in Chief.
The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Mrs. Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo, highlighted the qualities of the leader of the Revolution, his vast revolutionary history and his universal human dimensions. She recalled that he represents a symbol for Cubans of all generations, as a defender of social justice, dignity, independence and decorum; as well as in the permanent battle against imperialism that attacks and blocks the unconquerable Revolution more and more. She asserted that the best tribute we Cubans can pay to the historical leader is to continue his legacy.
ÖKG´s President Michael Wögerer stressed that Fidel Castro has set an example for progressive humanity, for which he also fought tirelessly.
The event was complemented by the screening of Roberto Chile´s documentary entitled "Fidel is Fidel" and the exhibition of selected photos of the Commander in Chief, which will remain on display at the ÖKG´s headquarters until January 2020.
