Beirut, May 19, 2019. On the morning of today took place in the Lebanese town of Abey, a hike to pay tribute to the National Hero of Cuba José Martí on the 124th Anniversary of his death in combat.
The tribute to the most universal of the Cubans was also an opportunity to express solidarity and support to Cuba and Venezuela of the Lebanese, Palestinians, Venezuelans and Cubans who participated.
The Ambassador of Cuba Alexander Pellicer Moraga thanked all participants, especially the Association of Arab-Latin American Solidarity "José Martí" and the Mayor of Aabey for the organization of the hiking.
The Cuban diplomat highlighted the legacy of Martí when expressed: "from Martí we learned the love to the country, the humanism and the importance of unity. In the complex moments that we live in our America and the world, we must stay united, only then we will achieve victory. "
From the José Martí Association, Bassan Al Kantar and Wafica Ibrahim used the word, who highlighted the figure of Martí as a great thinker and fighter for the independence of the Greater Antilles and for the unity of Latin America, while ratifying their support to Cuba and Venezuela before the threats and sanctions imposed by the administration of Donald Trump.
