ICAP Delegation concludes visit to Ethiopia with meeting in the city of Adama

Addis Ababa, September 14, 2025.- This past Sunday, the delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), headed by its President, Fernando González Llort, and accompanied by members of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Ethiopia, traveled to the distant city of Adama.

In this city, an emotional meeting was held with the Adama Savings and Credit Association, where firm voices of solidarity with Cuba were heard. The Association’s President, Sambi Habtamu, welcomed the delegation and, in his opening remarks, strongly condemned the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on the Cuban people.

During the exchange, Fernando González Llort explained the current situation in Cuba, marked by the tightening of the blockade and its effects on daily life. He also highlighted the determination and resilience of the Cuban people in defending their sovereignty and social project. He then held an open dialogue with members of the Association, who expressed messages of support and their commitment to continue promoting solidarity with Cuba.

With this visit to Adama, the ICAP delegation concluded its official program in Ethiopia, leaving behind a legacy of fraternity and brotherhood that reaffirms the historic bonds of friendship between the two peoples.
