AIPSO demands the immediate removal of Cuba from the list of State sponsors of terrorism

The All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) demands the immediate removal of Cuba from the list of State sponsors of terrorism and expresses its solidarity with the fighting people of Cuba.

The AIPSO notes that on 15th May 2024, the State Department of the US had announced a list excluding Cuba from a list of nations that ‘do not fully cooperate in the fight against terrorism’. But the US still retains Cuba in the list of countries that it unilaterally designates as ‘State sponsors of terrorism’. This is nothing but a blatant misrepresentation of socialist Cuba and its long history in the fight against terrorism. The real reasons of the US classification is to use this as an excuse to further tighten the unjust economic blockade it had imposed on Cuba. This is part of US’ continuing efforts to implement the Monroe doctrine that considers entire Latin American region as its backyard and keep all those countries under its control.

The US is unable to tolerate the simple fact that Cuba, a small island country, but with a big heart, is resisting all such efforts and standing with its head held high retaining its sovereign, socialist system.

AIPSO reiterates its solidarity with Cuba in its resistance to the US imperialist attempts to subjugate it. We join the international solidarity movement in demanding the immediate exclusion of Cuba from the list of State sponsors of terrorism. We once again reiterate our solidarity with Cuban people on behalf of the entire people of India.
