The Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India, Meenakshi Lekhi, participated virtually in the Meeting of Ministers of Culture, members of the G77+China, held in Havana on May 4.
The Minister addressed during the first topic discussed: "Culture as a global public good. Mechanisms and alternatives of South-South cooperation for sustainable development". In her speech, the Minister reiterated India's commitment to a more sustainable, inclusive and culturally vibrant future.
The meeting was attended by more than 75 Ministers and senior officials of the Culture sector of the member countries of the Group of 77 plus China, convened by Cuba as pro tempore president of the organization in 2023. As a result of the meeting, a statement was approved aimed at concrete actions to promote culture and its multilateral link.
