The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of the Northeastern Region of India, G. Kishan Reddy, participated virtually in the Meeting of Tourism Ministers, members of the G77+China, held in Havana on May 5.
During his speech, the Indian Minister highlighted the historic bonds of friendship between Cuba and India for more than 60 years, which have been strengthened in the tourism sector as well. He highlighted the attractions of Cuba as a tourist destination, especially the security and health care opportunities. He also noted that India, under the presidency of the G20, has given high priority to the development of green and sustainable tourism. On behalf of the Indian Government, he extended congratulations to the Cuban Government on the pro tempore presidency of the G77+China during 2023, as well as India's support to contribute to Cuba's success in this position.
The meeting was attended by Ministers and senior officials of the Tourism sector of the member countries of the Group of 77 plus China, convened by Cuba as president pro tempore of the organization in 2023.
