Information about Coronavirus for Cubans residing in Trinidad and Tobago

Port Spain, February 5th, 2020. Information was addressed to the Community of Cuban Residents in Trinidad and Tobago by the Cuban Embassy, on surveillance and control measures in the face of the epidemic outbreak of the Coronavirus. Details were given by Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology, of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba. Within the protection measures we mention the following: go to the medical personnel, and it is not about the coronavirus, but that any respiratory process can bring complications, so going to the doctor who can diagnose it is essential. Also, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or the inside angle of the elbow and wash your hands properly. The treatment is symptomatic (before the appearance of cough, sneezing and fevers), it does not carry antibiotics or antivirals. The clinical picture of the new coronavirus is characterized by fever, shortness of breath, changes in radiological images, that is, infiltrative lesions in both lungs, which add complexity to this picture. However, cases with diarrhea and vomiting have been reported. It is a disease that is transmitted from person to person, through gout  of saliva in a conversation, or if someone coughs or sneezes on us, or we touch a place contaminated with the virus.
