It is Imperative to Prevent a Military Aggression
against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Declaration of the Revolutionary Government of
Cuba
The Revolutionary Government condemns the
escalation of actions perpetrated by the
government of the United States to justify a
military aggression against the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela.
The accumulation and increase of military troops
and material in the Caribbean Sea; the use of
force to attack civilian crafts and murder their
crews and the unjustified interdiction and
detention of a vessel in violation of international
regulations, confirm the hostile and irresponsible
nature of the ongoing operation.
Added to this is the dissemination of
psychological warfare messages by the
Government of the United States to try to
legitimize these actions before the public opinion
under the gross pretext that Venezuela represents
a threat to the national security of the United
States and the wellbeing of its citizens.
The US Secretary of State and other like-minded
senators and Congress members, who are also
responsible for the ongoing genocidal escalation
in Gaza, are attempting to impose their interests
by force in Venezuela, which is both unjustifiable
and dangerous.
The true purpose of these actions is to seize the
oil and natural resources of Venezuela.
Cuba has repeatedly warned that the deployment
of US military forces in the Caribbean in recent
weeks is a provocation intended to unleash a
military conflict that would compel the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela to defend its sovereignty
and territorial integrity.
A direct military aggression against Venezuela
would have incalculable consequences for peace,
stability and security in Our America.
No government can be allowed to resort to
threats or the use of force in violation of the
purposes and principles of the Charter of the
United Nations and International Law.
It is imperative to distinguish lies from reality.
Cuba calls for an international mobilization to
prevent an aggression and preserve Latin
America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace,
as was proclaimed by its Heads of State and
Government.
