The 69th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks was celebrated in Thiruvanantapuram, capital of the Indian state of Kerala. The central activity was organized by the National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba and was attended by more than one hundred people, including members of the organization and students.
The meeting was presided over by Alejandro Simancas, Cuban Ambassador to India; Arya Rajendran, Mayor of the city; and M.A. Baby, responsible for International Relations of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The prominent writer Paul Sakariys was also present.
Multiple expressions of solidarity and friendship characterized the meeting as a sign of the positive relations of Cuba with India and, in particular, with Kerala. The National Committee of Solidarity with Cuba ratified its support to the Revolution and recalled the revolutionary spirit of Moncada.
