Kuwait, October 21, 2016. On the occasion of the October 20, Day of Cuban Culture, the Embassy of Cuba in Kuwait recalled this important date.
Cuba's ambassador in Kuwait, Andres Gonzalez Garrido stressed the significance for all Cubans this day, in which the date of October 20, 1868 is remembered, when Cuban independence achieved their first victory against to Spanish colonialism to take the city of Bayamo and the people sang for the first time Cuban National Anthem at theSquare.
This song of liberating insurrection, originally called The Bayamesa and its author was Perucho Figueredo became the expression and symbol of national culture.
