The Lebanese Communist Party ratifies solidarity with Cuba
The Secretary General of the Lebanese Communist Party, Hanna Ghareb, received at the party headquarters in Beirut, Ambassador Jorge Leon Cruz, who delivered a letter of invitation to the Secretary General for a visit to Cuba that will surely contribute to the strengthening of inter-party ties.
The occasion was propitious to review the excellent ties of friendship between the PCC and the PCL and the mutual willingness to continue working for the strengthening of friendly relations between parties.
The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to express appreciation for the traditional support to the Cuban people in confronting the blockade imposed by the USA against Cuba for more than 60 years and the rejection of the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism. It should never have been on this list and it constitutes a slanderous, unilateral act that is contrary to international law.
Cuba has never participated in the organisation, financing or execution of terrorist acts, nor has its territory been used, nor will it ever be used for that purpose.
It is clear that it is precisely the Cuban people who have been victims, for more than 60 years, of innumerable terrorist actions, the vast majority of which have been planned, organised and financed from US territory, with the support and financing of the ruling regimes of that country.
As a result of these terrorist acts against Cuba, more than 3,000 people have died and more than 2,000 have been disabled.
During the fraternal meeting, both sides agreed on the need for a ceasefire and the condemnation of the flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law that Israel is carrying out against the Gaza Strip by depriving them of water, food, electricity and fuel services, as part of its policy of massacre, ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinian people.
Finally, the Cuban diplomat reiterated the energetic rejection of Israeli aggression, its policy of annexation and colonising practices, as well as the need for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the conflict that would allow the Palestinian people to exercise their right to an independent and sovereign state within its pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and guarantee the right of return of the refugees.
