The Lebanese Communist Party Reaffirms Its Solidarity and Support for Cuba

Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz received Hanna Ghareb, Secretary General of the Lebanese Communist Party, and thanked him for the recent statement issued by the party strongly condemning the threats directed against Cuba and denouncing the persistent U.S. blockade against Comrade Raúl Castro.

The Cuban diplomat also conveyed the gratitude of the Cuban Party, Government, and people for the fraternal solidarity and the PCL’s call to all free peoples of the world to denounce U.S. threats against Cuba and raise their voices in solidarity with the Cuban people.

The party leader reaffirmed that the PCL will always support Cuba, which has maintained a principled policy of supporting all just causes and the struggles of the peoples of the world, in the face of U.S. interference in the affairs of states and the right to self-determination of free and independent peoples.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Maurice Nohra, a member of the PCL’s executive committee and President of the Lebanese-Cuban Friendship Association, current national, regional, and international issues were discussed.

The occasion provided an opportunity to confirm the PCL’s participation in the 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (EIPCO) and the 1st International Colloquium “Fidel: Legacy and Future,” which will be held in Havana from August 7–9 and August 10–13, 2026, respectively.
