Cuba described the US military action against Venezuela as a serious violation of international law, demanded information on the whereabouts of President Nicolás Maduro, and warned of the regional impact of an escalation that threatens the stability of Latin America and the Caribbean.
On Saturday, the Cuban government condemned the military action taken by the United States against Venezuela, describing it as a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
In an official statement, Havana expressed its political support for the Venezuelan government and reiterated its solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro and the authorities of the South American country.
The statement backed the declarations of Venezuela's executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, and demanded that Washington provide verifiable information on the situation of President Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores following what Cuba described as a US military operation.
He stated that Venezuela and its people have expressed their determination to reject any external aggression and defend their sovereignty.
According to the statement, the United States' action constitutes an escalation in a policy of sustained pressure against Venezuela, which intensified in September 2025 with the deployment of US naval forces in the Caribbean Sea, under arguments that he described as unfounded.
Cuba explicitly demanded the immediate release of the Venezuelan president and first lady, considering it an act of force for political and domination purposes.
It argued that the offensive responds to strategic interests linked to the control of Venezuelan natural resources and the intention to exert pressure on other governments in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Foreign Ministry warned that the United States and its main political authorities will be responsible for the human and material consequences of this action, and recalled that in 2014 the countries of the region signed the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, a commitment that is threatened by this type of military operation.
Havana also called on the international community to speak out against what it described as an extremely serious act of aggression against a UN member state, while stressing that Venezuela has not committed any acts of hostility against the United States or other countries.
Finally, the Cuban government urged governments, parliaments, and social organizations around the world to condemn the U.S. military action and warned of the risks that such measures pose to regional stability and international security.

Cubans denounced the US attack that caused human and material losses, and the kidnapping of Venezuela's constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro.
A delegation representing the Cuban people gathered on Saturday at the José Marti Anti-Imperialist Tribune in Havana to condemn the recent US military aggression against Venezuela and reaffirm their commitment to the proclamation of peace in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In his keynote speech, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described the attack carried out in the early hours of the morning against the capital, Caracas, and the states of Aragua, Miranda, and La Guaira as “brutal and treacherous.”
He also described the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his partner Cilia Flores as “unacceptable, vulgar, and barbaric.” The Cuban leader denounced it as an act of state terrorism against peace in our region and an unacceptable attack on international law.
“The land of Bolívar is sacred, and an attack on its children is an attack on all the worthy children of our America,” said the head of state.
Later in his speech, Díaz-Canel warned that the threat is not only against Venezuela, but against all of humanity, and is based on the doctrine of peace through the use of force. “Those who celebrate the terrorist and fascist act that the United States has just committed against a sovereign nation on the continent can only do so out of hatred that clouds their judgment,” he denounced.
A direct attack on the pillars of international law
During the event, the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Fernando González Llort, said that this aggression is not an isolated incident, but an escalation in the long economic, media, diplomatic, and military threats war, whose objective is to subjugate a sovereign people and destroy by force a project of independence and social justice such as the Bolivarian Revolution.
He denounced Saturday's action as a direct attack on the pillars of international law and an assault on the aspiration to build a zone of peace in our America.
Fernando González called for urgent global mobilization to denounce the aggression and exert pressure, under the slogan that “Venezuela today is the cause of humanity.”
For Venezuela, to the last drop of blood
At the event, intellectual and president of Casa de las Américas, Abel Prieto Jiménez, characterized the United States as a decadent, arrogant empire that knows it is doomed to dissolution and does not accept the multipolar world.
Prieto Jiménez stated that the U.S. government wants the world to believe its lies, a weapon used constantly against Venezuela, against Cuba, against the peoples.
He emphasized that, in the case of Venezuela, they have fabricated monstrosities in the so-called realm of post-truth, that is, in the realm of lies.
He highlighted the urgent call made by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to the international community to stop the aggression. “There cannot be a decent person in this world who does not denounce this infamous attack by all means at their disposal,” he said.
You can't play games with the homeland
For his part, the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, highlighted the relevance of José Martí's words when he said that the empire wanted to extend its claws across Latin America.
“There are stateless Venezuelans rejoicing, and Cubans predicting that Cuba will be next. Make no mistake, you don't mess with the homeland,” he said.
Hernández Nordelo called on humanity to raise its voice and tell the empire that we are in the 21st century and we do not govern as in the Wild West. “It is time for peace-loving people and international organizations to raise their voices. We cannot have a world where chaos and disorder reign.”
In this regard, he urged all decent people around the world to condemn this act. “The bombs that fell on Venezuela did not ask who was a Chavista and who was not. This can happen to any people who let their guard down, falter, and fail to maintain their unity. This is the price that must be paid.”
