Lebanese media outlets report on Cuba's national mourning in honor and glory of the Cuban combatants who fell in a criminal act of terrorism by the US against Venezuela
The Pan-Arab Al Mayadeen Network reported on Cuba's national mourning following the death of 32 Cubans who fell in the line of duty in Venezuela during the US terrorist attack against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Government of the Republic of Cuba reported on Sunday the death of 32 Cuban citizens during the attack perpetrated by the US government against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which occurred in the early hours of January 3, 2026.
The deceased were carrying out missions on behalf of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of their counterparts in Venezuela.
According to the official statement, the Cuban compatriots heroically fulfilled their duty and fell in direct combat against the attackers or as a result of the bombing of the facilities where they were located.
The actions of the combatants were highlighted as an example of dignity and commitment to the security and defense of Venezuela and Cuba's international solidarity.
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Party Central Committee and president of the Republic, expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased, along with the heads of the ministries involved.
In response to the loss of the combatants, the Cuban president decreed two days of national mourning, beginning at 6:00 a.m. on January 5 and ending at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
