Lebanese Minister of Information highlights the International Forum New Operation Truth in Cuba and condemns the blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba
Ziad Makary, Lebanese Minister of Information, highlighted that the Operation Truth carried out by Cuba constitutes an inspiration for the alternative media in their mission to denounce the abuses committed against the peoples of the world.
During his speech at the opening session of the International Conference "New Operation Truth", to be held in Havana from January 21 to 23, 2024, Makary stressed the importance of confronting the falsehoods spread by "Israel" to justify the abuses against the Gazan population.
He denounced that the Israeli propaganda aims at dehumanizing the Palestinians to justify their elimination and stressed that the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen, stood up as a bastion of truth and responsible journalism in denouncing such misinformation, manipulations and dehumanization.
Minister Makary took the opportunity to invite those present at the meeting to commemorate the memory of the more than 100 journalists killed by the Israeli entity in Palestine and Lebanon since October 7.
At the same time, he praised the holding of the Forum in Havana, which he described as a resilient capital, and added that, as a Lebanese, he condemns the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than 60 years.
The Conference celebrates the 65th anniversary of the days that took place in Havana in January 1959 to explain to the world the reality of the nascent Cuban Revolution in the face of a campaign of discredit and disinformation.
