The Lebanese Minister of Information received a delegation of ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ambassador Jorge León Cruz was part of a delegation of ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean who held a meeting with the acting Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, during which they discussed issues related to the follow-up of the latest security developments in southern Lebanon.
The GRULAC diplomatic delegation also included the ambassadors of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, as well as the Chargés d'Affaires of Brazil, Mexico and Colombia.
At the end of the meeting, in statements to the press, Minister Makary informed: "This is the second time that a delegation of Latin American and Caribbean ambassadors visited us; we mainly discussed the situation in South Lebanon, especially since there are a significant number of Latin American citizens in Lebanon".
Makary further stressed that "part of the ambassadors' job is to look after the welfare of their nationals in Lebanon."
"This visit enjoys an official character, and we have agreed to continue the official communication to regularly provide the esteemed ambassadors with reports issued by the Crisis Cell, to be sent to their respective governments, as part of their work," Makary added.
The Minister of Information praised the good relationship with Latin American and Caribbean ambassadors, highlighting their "supportive stances towards Lebanon, whether diplomatically or in international forums".
