Lebanese Minister of Information receives the president of Prensa Latina

The Lebanese Minister of Information, Ziad Makary received the president of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González and Ambassador Jorge León Cruz, and held a positive meeting in which the Lebanese minister showed his admiration for Cuba, expressed his interest in developing bilateral relations, making the Lebanese community in Latin America visible and contributing to expand collaboration in different sectors.

The minister and the president of the Cuban media agreed on the need to strengthen communicational links, show the reality of the peoples and defend the truth.

The director of Prensa Latina called for strengthening communication between the two countries and commented on the presence of the Latin American agency in Lebanon since the 1980s during the civil war.  In addition, he highlighted the strengthening of the correspondent's office in Beirut since the establishment of ties with the Al Mayadeen network in 2014 and the joint work in favor of the causes of free peoples.

Likewise, he advanced the preparation together with Al Mayadeen of an international coverage in the context of the celebration of the G77 + China Summit in Havana, on the 15th and 16th of this month.

The president of Prensa Latina invited the Lebanese minister to participate in the international media event Operation Truth, scheduled for January next year, which is expected to be attended by more than 100 communication ministers and directors from different countries.
