Beirut, April 19, 2021. Lebanese media of various tendencies have echoed, in these days, the celebration in Havana of the eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The Lebanese media have highlighted the decision of Army General Raul Castro Ruz not to continue as First Secretary of the Party, and to give way to a generation of new leaders born after the triumph of the Revolution. They have also highlighted the words of the First Secretary of the Party at the opening of the conclave, where he addressed in depth the internal situation of Cuba and other issues of interest such as relations with the United States.
This congress is considered by many as historic, since the departure from active political life of historical leaders of the Revolution and the transfer to a new generation that will continue defending the ideas of socialism in Cuba and will continue working in the construction of a prosperous and sustainable society, more just, inclusive and solidary.
