Lebanon and Cuba advocate strengthening their ties after 63 years of bilateral relations

Lebanon and Cuba advocated today for the strengthening of bilateral ties, in the context of the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of their relations.
At the Lebanese diplomatic headquarters, Hani Chimayteli, secretary general of the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, discussed with the head of the diplomatic mission in Havana, Jorge León Cruz, the excellent level of bilateral ties.
The parties agreed on the importance of deepening coordination in multilateral events and forums.
León took the opportunity to reiterate his gratitude to Lebanon for its solidarity support in favor of the people's struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by the United States against the island for more than six decades.
During the meeting, the interest and willingness to continue deepening mutually beneficial ties for Cuba and Lebanon was noted, the text said. Both countries established relations on June 15, 1960 and Lebanon is home to the largest solidarity movement with Cuba in North Africa and the Middle East.
