In Lebanon the League of Palestinian Graduates demands an end to the blockade against Cuba
The Cuban head of mission in Lebanon, Jorge León Cruz, received Ali El Khatib, president of the League of Palestinian Graduates of Cuban Universities and Institutes in Lebanon, to whom he thanked for the traditional Palestinian support to the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the US on Cuba for more than 60 years.
In this regard, the president of the Palestinian graduates handed the following statement of the League of Palestinian Graduates to the Cuban diplomat:
Beirut/Lebanon, Friday, October 28, 2022.
Comrade Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Lebanon,
Mr. Jorge León Cruz
Demanding the elimination of the blockade imposed against Cuba
For more than sixty years the United States of America has been applying an inhuman, unjust and aggressive policy against Cuba, which is manifested in the cruel blockade that affects the daily life of the Cuban people.
We, as students and graduates, have lived the reality of the blockade for dozens of years, we felt and saw first hand the effects and difficulties that arise as a consequence of the blockade.
The international community represented by the General Assembly of the United Nations annually demands the end of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, but the different administrations and rulers of the U.S. do not respect the opinion of the planet, nor do they respect the UN agreements.
We are a few days away from the highest meeting of the UN General Assembly and we take advantage of this moment to express our support for Cuba's report entitled "the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba" and we support the right of the Cuban people to live in peace and freely build their future without any foreign pressure or intervention.
We the Palestinian graduates of the Cuban Universities and Institutes in Lebanon confirm once again our solidarity with Cuba, condemn the blockade, the manipulation of terrorism that attempts to destabilize the situation in Cuba and condemn the blackmail that is disseminated through the media and demand the elimination of the inhuman blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.
Ali El-Khatib
President
League of Palestinian Graduates
of Cuban Universities and Institutes,
in Lebanon
