In Lebanon, Palestinian leader condemns new measures to strengthen the US blockade against Cuba
Cuba's ambassador to Lebanon, Jorge P. León Cruz, received a message of solidarity from Palestinian leader Ali Faisal, vice president of the Palestinian National Council and deputy secretary general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, condemning the new US measures and the declaration of a state of emergency, which constitute an escalation and expansion of the economic embargo against Cuba, its people, and its socialist revolution.
We condemn the escalation of the US economic embargo against Cuba and its people.
These new US measures will not break the will of the Cuban people or their leaders; on the contrary, they will strengthen their determination to defend their unity and their revolution.
The Palestinian people, in all their diversity, support Cuba, its people, its revolution, and its leaders against the escalation of the US embargo.
Under the pretext that Cuba poses a threat to US national security, Faisal emphasizes that the real danger threatening US and global national security is the very same US imperialist policy that plunges peoples into hunger, siege, wars, bloodshed, and destruction, and militarizes the seas and international relations for the benefit of Trump's imperialist objectives, which ignore the lives of peoples, even those of its allies, and only serve the interests of the imperialist ruling clique in the United States.
Faisal pointed out that the continuation of Israel's war of extermination against our people in Gaza and the West Bank, with the cover and support of the United States, and the ongoing attacks against Lebanon and Syria, along with the blatant US aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the kidnapping of its courageous president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, the freedom fighter, have taken us back to the era of pirates and bandits, driven by greed for its oil wealth.
This constitutes clear evidence of the violation of security and stability in the Caribbean, West Asia, and the world, with the aim of unilaterally determining the fate of the world. Meanwhile, the world is witnessing events that point to a multipolar world order as a result of new international balances and the steadfastness of Cuba, the countries of Latin America, and the peoples of the region.
The region, its resistance forces, and the global movement of freedom fighters who oppose U.S. hegemony.
Faisal stated: “We are confident that this policy, these measures, and the declaration of a state of emergency against Cuba will not break the will of the Cuban people or their leaders. On the contrary, they will only strengthen their determination, unity, and resolve to confront and thwart the US plan and its aggression, which violates international law and legitimacy.”
Faisal reiterated the unwavering support of the Palestinian people, in all its components, for the Cuban people, its leaders, President Miguel Díaz-Canel, and its revolution.
Cuba has provided and continues to provide all kinds of support through its courageous stance in all international forums and within the popular movements of Latin America, in support of the Palestinian people and to stop the war of genocide, ethnic cleansing, displacement, and famine. This support also seeks to achieve freedom and independence, establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and guarantee the return of refugees.
