Lebanon receives condolences and solidarity from the Arab Regional Coordination Center of the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF)

Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz and Consular Affairs Officer Mayra Nieves Escobar received a delegation of Lebanese and Palestinian women's organizations, who conveyed their condolences and expressed their pride in the 32 Cuban heroes who fell in the criminal and fascist aggression of the United States against Venezuela on January 3, 2026.

The delegation, led by Aida Nasrallah, coordinator of the Arab Regional Center of the International Democratic Women's Federation (IDWF), included representatives from nine organizations, including the Lebanese Women's Rights Committee, the Palestinian Democratic Women's Organization (Nada), and the General Union of Palestinian Women.

The ambassador confirmed that the Yankee imperialist aggression violates international law and the laws of the United States itself. He considered that this act of state terrorism sets a very negative precedent that constitutes a threat to all countries in the world and particularly to Latin America, where the Trump administration's attempts to reinstate the Monroe Doctrine in order to seize the natural resources of countries will be defeated, all of which should provoke international rejection and condemnation.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his deep gratitude for the broad expressions of support and solidarity expressed by the delegates, who also highlighted the example and selfless solidarity that Cuba has offered to the world, and reaffirmed the firm position of the Cuban people in defense of the Palestinian cause and Lebanese sovereignty, as well as the decision to confront any imperialist threat or aggression with firmness and determination.
