Lebanon sends delegation to Cuba to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Women's International Democratic Federation
Accepting an invitation from the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF), the president of the League for Lebanese Women's Rights, Aida Nasrallah, is traveling to Cuba to participate in the international event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the WIDF, to be held in Havana from November 27 to December 3, 2025.
The occasion will be an opportunity to consolidate the eighty years that have united women's struggles with the solidarity emerging from the Global South for a better world.
The Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF) is the first international mass women's organization, founded in France on December 1, 1945. It has held general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1969.
The WIDF agrees that the negative consequences of the blockade for the Cuban people constitute the main manifestation of violence against Cuban women and men.
