LEBANON URGES AN END TO THE US BLOCKADE AGAINST CUBA
In a message of solidarity received at the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon, Ali Faisal urges the United Nations to vote in favor of ending the US blockade against the Cuban people and the Republic of Cuba.
The vice president of the Palestinian National Council and deputy secretary general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ali Faisal, urged the United Nations to lift the US blockade, which has been in place for 60 years, in defiance of all international laws prohibiting blockades and starvation.
He stated that by imposing its blockade on the Republic of Cuba, the United States is committing genocide and starvation against the Cuban people, violating the most basic humanitarian laws.
He added that the US blockade is an attempt to break the will of the Cuban leadership, which has been a model not only for the peoples of Latin America, but also for the peoples of the world, especially the Palestinian people.
He praised the steadfastness of Cuba, Venezuela, and Colombia despite all the threats, sanctions, and militarization of the United States in the Caribbean, which has gone from being the backyard to the front yard in defending the interests and sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America.
He affirmed the support of the Palestinian people for Cuba and its people, who have provided all kinds of support to the Palestinian people and their resistance, who face the most atrocious war crimes, genocide, famine, siege, and ethnic cleansing in Gaza at the hands of the fascist Israeli junta.
The sincere stance of the Palestinian people towards Cuba, its people, and its leaders will not be forgotten. They will not forget the positions of the leader of the world revolution, the late President Fidel Castro, nor those of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who defended the Palestinian people's right to return, self-determination, and an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Faisal concluded his message by calling on the free peoples of the world, in his capacity as vice president of the Parliamentary Network of Non-Aligned Countries, to promote the broadest movement of solidarity with Cuba to lift the blockade.
Cuba has been and will continue to be a bastion against the US imperialist blockade, regardless of its nature.
