Faisal congratulates the Cuban leadership and people on the anniversary of the start and victory of the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban Revolution serves as a revolutionary model and a source of inspiration for liberation movements in Latin America and around the world in their struggle against U.S. imperialism and the forces of colonialism.

The Vice President of the Palestinian National Council and Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ali Faisal, extended his greetings to the Cuban people, their leadership, and President Miguel Díaz-Canel on the anniversary of the start of the Cuban Revolution, marked by the assault on the Moncada Barracks—an event that heralded the beginning of the struggle for national liberation and the overthrow of the Batista fascist regime, backed by U.S. imperialism.

From its very beginnings, the Cuban Revolution charted a new course and set a new standard, becoming an inspiring revolutionary model for national liberation movements in Latin America and for many around the world in the struggle to free themselves from imperialism and colonialism. It has remained so from its triumph to the present day, despite the U.S. blockade and conspiracies, the magnitude of which is virtually unprecedented.

Faisal expressed his gratitude to the people and leadership of Cuba for their unwavering support of the Palestinian people in all international forums, in defense of their right to achieve freedom, establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and guarantee the right of return for their refugees. He also reaffirmed the support of the Palestinian people and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine for Cuba in the face of imperialist aggression, threats, and the blockade—which will only serve to strengthen their resolve and resistance to break the siege and confront its consequences, which constitute a form of war of extermination and collective punishment against the Cuban people.

Faisal concluded his remarks by recalling the sacrifices of the Cuban people and the Cuban Revolution, as well as their historic revolutionary leader, the late President Fidel Castro, and his comrade-in-arms, Commander Che Guevara.
