From Lebanon, a vote for Cuban families

The head of the Cuban mission in Lebanon, Jorge León Cruz, described the voting day of the referendum on the Family Code as part of a broad and democratic process.

From the early hours of this Sunday, Cubans who are on official mission in Lebanon, exercised their suffrage in polling station number one of the 72nd constituency.

The Cuban diplomat emphasized the participatory and inclusive nature of the debates on the Code of Families, which was approved by the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba last July, and said that the voting exercise constitutes a support to the revolution and the strengthening of the unity of the fundamental cell of society, the respect for human dignity, the protection of the most vulnerable and the equality of all its members.

He also stressed that the opinions and proposals of all Cubans, inside and outside the country during the consultations, demonstrated the interest in contributing to the development of a free, independent, sovereign nation of social justice and human solidarity.
