Monrovia, April 3, 2021 - This morning, we received a visit from the directive member of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group, Mr. William Wesseh, who was the bearer of a letter of congratulations from the members of the Liberian solidarity organization.
In the letter, the Liberian friends congratulate the Organization of José Martí Pioneers (OPJM) on its 60th anniversary and the Union of Young Communists (UJC) on its 59th anniversary, to be celebrated tomorrow April 4.
In the exchange held on this occasion between the head of mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera and the president of the solidarity organization, the Cuban diplomat considered that there are countless reasons to continue defending the Revolution and its work of social justice, and to celebrate, despite the pandemic and its rigors, another April of youth and victories.
He added that, in Cuba, it will be a different April 4, which will be celebrated without large congregations, taking into account the difficult epidemiological situation we are going through, but the most important thing is not to overlook the date. This birthday of the organization will involve the decoration of balconies and portals, the tribute to former leaders, the development of the initiative Drawings on the asphalt in which children can reflect measures in the fight against COVID-19, and productive work among many other initiatives.
