Liberian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marjon Kamara takes the floor on program for the Day of the National Rebellion of Cuba.

With the presence of the Chancellor and other representatives of the Liberian Foreign Ministry, the Cuban Embassy in Liberia celebrated National Rebellion Day. They also participated in the activity the Minister of Defense, the Deputy Minister of Commerce, the Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs, Senator Conmamy B. Wesseh, members of the Cuba-Liberia Friendship Association, graduates in Cuba, as well as the selected youth who will start this year medical studies in Cuba and representatives of the country's press.

The Cuban Chargé d'Affaires emphasized the importance of commemorating National Rebellion Day for the Cuban people and government, while ensuring the continuity of the Revolution and the position of the country's authorities in relation to the new policies adopted by the US President against the island. He also reiterated Cuba's willingness to maintain support for the recovery process of the Liberian health system and to extend cooperation to other sectors of mutual interest.

He also referred to the historic coincidence of the July 26 celebrations in Cuba and Liberia's Independence Day, which he called another reason for union between the two governments and peoples. In that sense, a special moment of the activity was the delivery to the Liberian Chancellor of the letter of congratulation sent by her Cuban counterpart and the missive of the President of Cuba to the president of the African nation, on occasion of the National Day of Liberia that will be celebrated soon.

For her part, the Liberian Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized Fidel's leadership in leading the Cuban Revolution and her tireless work for the benefit of the African people, essentially in the development, training of professionals and improvement of health and education systems. He mentioned especially the work of the Cuban doctors in the fight against the Ebola, episode that "will remain forever in the annals of the history of Liberia".

She also thanked Cuba for its support in the training of Liberian professionals, emphasized the process of negotiations for the signing of a medical collaboration agreement between the two nations, as well as preparations for its first official visit to the island, at the invitation of the Foreign Minister Cuban. Likewise, he said that Liberia will continue to support the fight against the US blockade to Cuba until its total elimination.

The act was enlivened with Cuban music and allowed to verify the good state of the bilateral relations between Cuba and Liberia.
