Kuala Lumpur, February 18, 2026. It was a great pleasure to welcome Malaysian doctors who graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) to the Cuban House.
We exchanged on the situation in our country, and they were interested in knowing about the difficulties facing the health sector in particular, following the intensification of coercive measures against Cuba and other countries, with the new executive order from the U.S. government that obstructs the supply of oil to the island. This measure reinforces more than 60 years of illegal blockade and constitutes a crime of genocide against the people, alongside whom they took their first steps as doctors.
Their words, always complimentary of the Cuban health system, the humane work of family doctors, and the historic international cooperation provided by Cuba, reaffirm their solidarity with our people, also as members of the Association of Friends of Cuba in Malaysia (FOCA).
To paraphrase Martí: He who sows love, reaps love!
