Kuala Lumpur, February 6, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, met with the Chairman of the Select Committee for Foreign Relations and International Trade of the Malaysian Parliament, the Honorable Wong Chen.
The occasion provided an opportunity to discuss the historic ties of friendship between #Malaysia and #Cuba, and to exchange views on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between the two nations.
They also addressed the geopolitical tensions on the global and regional scenario, and the Ambassador updated on the escalation of aggressions against Cuba.
We received with particular satisfaction the letter sent to the Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Cuba, which reaffirms the Malaysian government's traditional position of support to Cuba.
