A March for the Honor and Dignity of the Homeland

A March for the Honor and Dignity of the Homeland

More than 500,000 Cubans from the capital, representing the whole country, marched this Friday in front of Havana's Malecon. In “the front line of combat”, as Fidel taught, were the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz; and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

At 4 o'clock in the afternoon of December 20, the largest popular mobilization of recent times began. In front of the Anti-imperialist and deeply Marti's Tribune, Cubans of several generations gathered, flooding the esplanade with the colors of our flag, because that is what we are, a colorful archipelago, which radiates light and grows, in the midst of difficulties.

Raul and Diaz-Canel arrived to take their places, standing next to the people of the capital. Alongside them were the Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, leaders of the Party, the State, the Government, youth, student and mass organizations, officers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.

In the first block of the march, representing their people, were the deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power, who hours before had concluded their ordinary session, in days of contributing debates on the problems, aspirations and challenges of the country.
