Addis Ababa, March 9, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Ethiopia, Meylin Suarez, participated in a meeting with members of the “Granma 72” Association, an organization of military graduates who studied at training institutions in Cuba.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat provided a detailed update on the current situation on the island, marked by the intensification of economic pressure measures imposed by the United States government against the Caribbean nation. She explained the impact these policies are having on the economy and the daily lives of the Cuban people, as well as the efforts of the government and society to confront the difficulties and advance the country's development.
The members of the “Granma 72” Association reiterated their firm solidarity with Cuba and its people. During the exchange, they recalled the statement previously issued by the organization, in which they expressed their support for the Caribbean nation and denounced the current coercive measures affecting the country.
They also highlighted the historical ties of friendship and cooperation that bind them to Cuba, the country where they received part of their professional and military training. The participants emphasized the importance of maintaining this bond of fraternity and continuing to promote international solidarity with the Cuban people.
