Meeting between Cuban Ambassadors and Vice-President of the African Union Commission strengthens bilateral dialogue

Addis Ababa, July 9, 2026.- Lucas Domingo Hernández, Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, and Meylin Suárez Álvarez, Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, held a meeting with H.E. Ambassador Selma Malika Haddadi, Vice-President of the African Union Commission, at the African Union Headquarters.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on strengthening the historic partnership between Cuba and the African Union, built on a long tradition of solidarity, cooperation and mutual respect.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration in areas of common interest, with the purpose of promoting sustainable development, regional integration, South-South cooperation and the shared aspirations of both parties.
