Addis Ababa, February 26, 2025.- Members of the Cuban Mission in Ethiopia held a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Association of Friendship between the Peoples of Ethiopia and Cuba, in the context of preparations for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The meeting was headed by the Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez and the Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas D. Hernández together with the president and vice president of the Association, Abebe Ayelew and Yibrah Mehari, respectively.
Among the topics discussed, the organization of commemorative activities, cultural and academic events that highlight the brotherhood between Cuba and Ethiopia was highlighted. Likewise, actions for the preservation and restoration of historical sites linked to the bilateral relationship were discussed, in recognition of the shared legacy.
The meeting reaffirms the mutual commitment to continue strengthening friendship and cooperation in different areas, in a year of special significance for diplomacy between the two countries.
