Addis Ababa, May 12, 2025.- Convened by the Embassy of Mexico in Ethiopia, the Heads of the Consular Offices of the Embassies of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) held a productive exchange on good practices and consular initiatives with the aim of improving the joint work of GRULAC with Ethiopian entities and in concurrent embassies.

During the meeting, in which representatives of the Embassies of Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil and Nicaragua participated, key issues such as improving the attention to nationals, visa processes, the transfer of sanctioned citizens, access to immigration authorities and cooperation with travel agencies were addressed.

Likewise, common challenges were discussed and experiences were shared on the mechanisms applied by different diplomatic missions to resolve complex situations in the consular field.

This initiative seeks to consolidate a permanent space for dialogue and cooperation between GRULAC consular offices in Ethiopia, thus strengthening regional coordination and response capacity to shared challenges.
