Nassau, June 26. The Minister of Labor and Immigration of The Bahamas, the Honorable Keith R. Bell received Cuban Ambassador Julio César González Marchante at the headquarters of that Ministry, with whom he held a working meeting to examine the migratory situation in the region and between the two countries.
In the cordial meeting, both parties reiterated the importance of ensuring the application of the approved mechanism to address illegal immigration and hold new migratory talks soon for the benefit of good bilateral relations.
Likewise, the willingness and commitment to implement joint actions to guarantee a safe, orderly and regular migratory flow and to increase cooperation in the fight against the illegal smuggling of migrants and human trafficking was reaffirmed.
