Port of Spain, October 5, 2022. A group of young Trinidadians graduated in Cuba in specialties related to architecture, telecommunications, medicine and physical culture and sports, held a meeting at the Embassy of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago. The graduates recalled with emotion the period they studied in Cuba, had words of gratitude to the Cuban people and government, beyond the professional knowledge acquired, and described Cuba as their second homeland.
A special highlight was made to the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) created in 1998 at the initiative of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, where in the last 20 years more than 30 thousand young people from 115 countries have graduated.
The occasion was also propitious to offer young people an update on current Cuban society as well as the measures adopted to continue developing the country despite the intensification of the blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years.
The board of the Association of Friendship with Cuba, for its part, recalled the origins of the organization, referred to the most recent attacks of Hurricane Ian and reiterated solidarity with the island and the condemnation of the unjust and illegal US blockade.
