Members of Cuba's educational collaboration in the Bahamas are recognized in Excellence Awards

Nassau, February 25, 2025. At the Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony held in the Bahamas, two members of the Cuban educational collaboration are awarded, Yoangel Perodin López (Special Education nominated for the Innovation Award and Joel Antonio Isaac La O (agriculture teacher nominated for the Empowerment Award).

More than 200 teachers, guidance counselors and technical officials from the Department of Education were recognized for their hard work and dedication during the opening ceremony of the event held at the Imperial Ballroom, Atlantis Resort, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Her Excellency Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor General and Prime Minister Philip Davis, Minister for Education Glenys Hanna Martin, Permanent Secretary Lorraine Armbrister and Principal Dominique McCartney-Russell were present to congratulate the nominees and present awards in sixteen categories.

Prime Minister Philip Davis thanked the assembled educators for their invaluable contributions, noting that “there is no mission more sacred, more urgent or more inspiring than the mission of preparing our children for the future.”
