Cuba reiterates its firm position of never abandoning the Palestinian people in their just struggle to achieve an independent State, it is a moral duty for the Cuban people and authorities. No country in the world should see how the rights of their children are violated and how they are victims of brutal repression for defending their land. We repudiate the episodes of disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force by Israel against Palestinian civilians, we condemn the illegal construction and expansion of Jewish settlements, and we reject the occupation and genocidal policy of the State of Israel aimed at usurping Palestinian territories. This policy constitutes a serious and flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations, International Law and International Humanitarian Law, and expresses the continuity of aggressive policies and colonizing practices.
We defend a comprehensive, fair and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the establishment of two States, which allows that Arab people to exercise the right to self-determination and independence. These abuses and violations against the Palestinians cannot go unpunished, that is why we urge the international community to demand and support the implementation of a political negotiation process aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. Cuba ratifies its unwavering support for the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to have an independent and sovereign State on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, which would guarantee the return of refugees and the release of their political prisoners.
As expressed by our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz: "Dispossessed of their lands, expelled from their own homeland, scattered throughout the world, persecuted and assassinated, the heroic Palestinians constitute an impressive example of selflessness and patriotism, and are the living symbol of the greatest crime of our time.
