Kuwait, May 5: The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the State of Kuwait, Alain Pérez Torres, held a cordial and constructive meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al Sabah, at the Bayan Palace.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the strong state of bilateral relations, which have historically been characterized by mutual respect, cooperation, and a longstanding friendship that has remained unbroken since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed warm greetings from the island’s authorities to His Highness the Emir and His Highness the Crown Prince, reaffirming the desire to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship that unite both peoples. He also explained in detail the situation in Cuba and how U.S. sanctions and the policy of economic warfare against his country directly affect the Cuban people.
For his part, H.E. Sheikh Hamad Jaber expressed his hope that the situation in Cuba would improve soon, wishing peace and prosperity for the Cuban people. He also recalled with satisfaction and gratitude the presence of a Cuban medical brigade in Kuwait to provide support during the most difficult moments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, both sides agreed that there is potential in various areas to strengthen cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of their respective peoples.
