Minister of CITMA arrives in Vienna to participate in IAEA General Conference

Vienna, September 15—The Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment of the Republic of Cuba, Dr. Armando Rodríguez Batista, arrived in Vienna on Monday evening to head the Cuban delegation participating in the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is taking place from September 15 to 19, 2025. 

In addition to participating and speaking at the General Conference, among other activities, the Cuban minister will hold meetings with officials from the IAEA and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and will sign a Tsunami Early Warning Agreement with the CTBTO to strengthen national capacity in the face of such phenomena.

The IAEA General Conference is the main political and decision-making meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), where representatives of Member States meet annually to approve the budget and decide on key issues such as work programs, the admission of new members, and the implementation of global nuclear policy, setting the course for the IAEA.
