Nassau, February 2nd, 2023. The Minister of Education of The Bahamas, Glenys Hanna-Martin traveled to Cuba to participate in the International Congress Pedagogy 2023.
She also attended the meeting of the Ministers of Education and heads of delegations of the G77+China, which met at the Havana Convention Center.
The head of education completed an extensive program that included a meeting with her Cuban counterpart, Dr. C. Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella and a visit to the Solidarity with Panama school inaugurated by Commander Fidel Castro in 1989, among other activities. She was accompanied by the National Director of Education Ms. Dominique McCartney-Russell.
Cuba and the Bahamas maintain educational cooperation since 2003 that has allowed Cuban professionals to work as teachers at different levels of education on Bahamian contributing to the education in the country.
