Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment of Cuba held a fraternal encounter with Cuban residents in Austria and members of the movement of solidarity with Cuba in this country, on the occasion of her working visit to the alpine country to attend the 2nd CTBT Science and Diplomacy Symposium at the UN quarters in Vienna.
The Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios was also present in the encounter. The Minister underlined the importance of maintaining Cubans and solidary friends united in the struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US for almost 60 years and which affects all economic and social sectors of the nation.
The members of “Cuba Va”, the Association of Cuban Residents in Austria and “ÖKG”, the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association thanked the Minister and the Ambassador their presence in the activity at the time that they reaffirmed their support to the Cuban Revolution.
The event, which was carried out on the street in front of ÖKG´s premises located at “Wieden”, a central district of the Austrian capital, took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere where Austrian musicians and Cuban residents performed and over one hundred participants enjoyed it.
